István Tóth's Photography
I do not strive for sterile perfection with my images; rather, I aim to capture the real emotions and atmospheres that most would overlook. Whether it's a facial expression, the dynamics of a movement, or the play of light, my goal is for the photo to be more than just a visual, but a story that you can also experience.
I believe that reality is the only thing that needs no embellishment to be breathtaking.

Fire Circle
You never know when a door opens before you that no one else has access to. I photographed the fire jugglers from afar at the Krabi beach when one of them gestured for me to come closer to them. There I stood in the shower of sparks, trying to capture the rhythm they dictated with my Sony A6300.
This image is not just about the technique and the long exposure, but about the moment when I became part of the scene from an observer. The circle of fire symbolizes not only light but also trust.
The Past
Often the simplest movements carry the most stories. This elderly man was just writing a parking ticket, but I felt something much deeper behind his posture and gaze. It was as if he was recording not a slip of paper, but a fate.
For me, this image is proof that there is no insignificant work or boring moment – only eyes that do not want to see the character among the everyday.

The Creation
Creation does not only happen in artworks. It exists in every movement where attention and awareness meet. In this image, you can see a chef immersed in his work – that moment when something unique is born from raw ingredients. For me, this photo speaks of pure focus and humility towards the craft.
Genuine Moment
The genuine laughter is the only thing that cannot be staged. I captured this moment at an Indian celebration, where the brief, cheerful conversation between the waiters filled the space with life. For me, this photo proves that even in the midst of the greatest hustle, there is a place for human connection and humor.

The Interweaving of Past and Present
There are buildings that have not only walls but also destinies. This monumental, worn palace tells the story of the unstoppable passage of time with its encroaching electric wires and the plants growing from its cracked walls. For me, this image speaks of contrasts: the inseparable intertwining of former splendor and the chaotic everyday life of the modern era. A piece of history that still breathes today.
The Night Samurai
Lights and symbols – the night face of Bangkok. This image speaks of the duality of modern Asia: the cold glow of neon lights meeting the traditional samurai figure reflected in a glass wall. I sought not the human, but the visual rhythm dictated by the city.

The Monitor Lizard
Hunting for the moment. Patience is my most important tool in nature. This close-up shot shows the raw power and texture of the monitor lizard – a fraction of a second of eye contact that required quiet presence and precise timing.
City Rhythm – The Street Wanderer
Documentary photography, for me, is the quiet observation of moments. This shot shows a softer yet meaningful face of India: the pastel world of the wandering pink walls and the naturally present animal moving gracefully through traffic. I did not seek the dramatic; I simply let the clarity of colors and movements tell the story of togetherness.

Laughing Women
Photography for me begins when I succeed in breaking down the wall between the camera and the subject. This moment was not about the setup, but about a shared laughter at the edge of the road. I love this image because it contains everything worth traveling for: the genuine joy and the realization that no matter where we come from, joy is one of our strongest common languages. I was not looking for the perfect pose, but for that liberated energy that put everything else in the background for a moment.
The Inner Journey
Traveling is not just about kilometers, but about those moments when the noise of the outside world quiets down. In this image, there is no pose, no staged smile – just the gentle rocking of the sea and the quiet storage of experiences. For me, this moment is the essence of photography: capturing that fragile boundary where the physical journey ends, and the inner experience begins.

Fuel for Creation
Reaching the end of a portfolio is like docking after a long voyage: one feels a bit tired, but is completely 'full' in spirit. This sticker on the boat's dashboard is more than a funny detail – it’s a kind of creed. Let’s never let our inspiration tilt towards 'E'. I close this series like this: full of experiences, ready for the next journey.
This is how I photograph the world as I see it: honestly, sometimes raw, without embellishments. For me, a picture is not about artificially constructed visuals, but about true moments. My creation begins when I notice the unique in the everyday, and it ends when I press the button.
Thank you for joining me on this journey.
I hope these moments have shown you that even in the smallest details of the world, something unique resides.
