Z001 REPORT
Researchers are examining the remnants of a dilapidated factory building, searching for a few remaining weapons and food when one of the collectors spots a dusty document on a table in one of the rooms. He has seen many like this, but this one shows images of a damaged creature.
Interestingly, Z001 Significance might be related to this whole situation...
The First Hour
Steve.
Recently released from the psychiatric ward, he eagerly returns to his old job as a security officer. The past, where his wife died during an incident, and he could do nothing about it, is fading into the shadows. The new challenges assigned by his new boss excite him completely.
His first task after picking up his service weapon is to hurry to the tx-20 armored vehicle to complete that day's "work." While examining the interior, he sees a flash for a moment, feels a massive explosion, and then everything around him is engulfed.
When he comes to, he doesn't know how long he has been there, but in the darkness, holding his head, he tries to find an exit. He bangs, screams, but there is no answer...
The Second Hour...
Still dazed from the massive explosion, you feel as if you have been hit with a shovel. Your head throbs, and you can only see a flickering light. Suddenly, you feel like you reached for something sticky, trying to figure out what it could be, but the thought slips away, and you don't understand what happened....
You notice strange flashes and slowly start to rise; the tx-20 door is very hard to move. You bang, shout, but nothing; using all your strength, you try to escape, almost giving up when the thick door slowly starts to open.
As the door slowly opens, you suddenly realize that something is very wrong; the alarm signaling an external attack pierces your bones. You never thought this could happen to you; in your life, this is so absurd and incomprehensible...
The Third Hour...
You look around and see that an explosion must have happened because instead of a wall, there is now just a gaping hole, and the sight of flaming containers greets you. You smell a nauseating, acrid odor and immediately know that your only chance of survival is the old protective bunker built for potential explosions. As you head towards the bunker, you hear strange growls, and soon you hear maddening screams. Cautiously, you head towards the sounds, hoping to run into someone in need of help...
The Fourth Hour...
You don't even understand how you feel; you have been wandering around the factory area for hours, but you still haven't seen anyone. The sounds are getting quieter; you can hardly hear them now, the alarm has faded, the dust is slowly settling, and you can see more clearly what is around you. You see strange shadows in the distance, as if there were workers in protective suits... And you remember that something might have happened in Class Z; didn't the explosion occur there? Although you were never aware of what was going on there, only the rumors are what now carry your thoughts forward. Rabies, influenza, viruses; these scientists are always experimenting with some madness. You are aware that the army always finds a company where they can experiment with combat weapons; you know, because Jessica died that way...
The Fifth Hour...
Fear grips you; you know you must hurry because you can't stay here any longer. The sight that unfolds before you is much worse than you anticipated: corpses everywhere, dismembered bodies, burned, distorted faces, severed limbs; nausea surrounds you, your stomach churns, you start to tremble, sweat, and your thoughts are no longer under your control. You hear a growling sound, a survivor; maybe he knows something. You rush over, recognizing your old friend and colleague Pete; his clothes are torn, and he is badly burned, but he is the one you know. As you get closer, he suddenly jumps at you, and begins to bite and gnaw at you in a rabid manner; you can barely free yourself from his claws and teeth, only managing to escape with your gun...
The Sixth Hour...
After the shock, you flee to a nearby, albeit ruined, building, trying to figure out what happened, confused and angry, your pulse racing, your hands trembling. You try to call for help on the radio, but no one answers; you only hear some strange growling and snarling from the radio's other end. You look around and see that the previously lying bodies are starting to move - you are stunned by the sight - what kind of infection has the explosion released? From behind, a hand grabs you, trying to pull you into the darkness; luckily, you manage to shoot it, letting out a growl, it releases you. Fortunately, you think to yourself, they feel pain, and you start running towards the bunker. The previously slow-moving bodies suddenly begin to rush, chasing you...
The Seventh Hour...
You have been bitten; blood is pouring from your hand. Although you managed to barricade yourself in a room, you know you can't count on much good. It is clear now that something has escaped, a virus that turns humans into raging beasts. You are finding it harder to breathe; you feel that there isn't much time left; the emergency light is also fading, and everything is starting to darken...
You hear scratching again, you can almost feel them tearing you apart; there is still one bullet left in the gun, you know what you have to do...
A shot shakes the already silent room...
The door bursts open; finally, you manage to force open the tx-20 armored vehicle door. Steve, wildly waving his weapon, starts shooting, seriously injuring a few who rush to help him, then he loses consciousness.
Pete watches his friend in shock, not understanding what happened; he was only locked in for 1 hour...
They immediately request a report on the incident concerning Steve Zombaia's death.
Until further investigation of Steve Zombaia, I request his transfer to a designated isolated unit. The subject's blood and tissue samples have been forwarded. The virus infection
And here ends the report; unfortunately, it reveals too little about what follows. It's a pity, but this is surely where everything started, and with this momentum, they continued to search among the still accessible ruins.
